Nutrition & Health Foundation
The Nutrition & Health Foundation is innovative in its multi-stakeholder approach to addressing the health challenges of our nation, bringing together industry, government, state agencies, internationally recognised scientists, health professionals and other relevant stakeholders. The Foundation is led by the food and drink industry through Ibec’s food division, Food and Drink Industry Ireland (FDII).
The Nutrition & Health Foundation is putting the consumer at the heart of its mission. It continues to conduct detailed attitudinal research to identify what information the public needs to help them achieve a healthier lifestyle. This information is then used to develop the NHF's projects and initiatives.
The scientific grounding for the Foundation’s activities is provided through its links with the Irish Universities Nutrition Alliance (IUNA), the Exercise and Sports Science Association of Ireland (ESSAI), the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute (INDI), the National Dairy Council (NDC), the Irish Society of Chartered Phyiostherpists (ISCP), Athlone Institute of Technology, Dublin City University (DCU), University College Cork (UCC), Cork Institute of Technology, St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra, Waterford Institute of Technology, University College Dublin (UCD) and St. Angela's College, Sligo.
