Consumer Electronic Distributors Association

The Consumer Electronics Distributors Association, (CEDA), is the sectoral association within Technology Ireland promoting the development and representing the interests of the major distributors of consumer electronic goods in Ireland.

Member Benefits and Services
Our membership base regularly consults with Government departments and organisations such as the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, RTÉ and the Commission for Communications Regulation to ensure that policy makers are up to date with both the short and long term needs and industry goals.

Key areas of activity addressed by the association include:
  • Representation of the industry in respect of legal and regulatory issues on a local and European basis,
  • Environmental issues,
  • After sales service policies and provision,
  • Communication forum for industry specific issues,
  • Provision of accurate and timely market information to all members.

Members have an excellent opportunity to feed into CEDA's overall direction in areas such as EU Waste from Electronics and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) directive, the rollout of DTT and Battery Legislation. CEDA also compiles an analysis on the consumer electronics sector by providing monthly market statistics on the sales of a variety of consumer electronic goods in Ireland. These figures provide an interesting indication of the changing purchases of the Irish consumer.

Members of CEDA include:
  • Audiovisual Import,
  • Dimpco,
  • JVC,
  • KAL.,
  • LG Electronics,
  • Panasonic,
  • Philips Ireland,
  • Sanyo,
  • Sharp,
  • Sony Ireland.

The current chairman of the association is Mr.John Coogan, Country Manager, Philips.
