Pension schemes

In 2016, as part of our conditions of employment programme, the research unit collected data on the incidence of pension scheme provision by sector, company size, industry and region. We also asked companies to provide us with information on the type of pension scheme in operation, i.e. whether the company had a defined benefit or defined contribution scheme in place. This information is provided by sector, company size, industry and region.

The research unit also collected information on employer and employee contributions to pension schemes, as well as details on death in retirement and death in service benefits to employees.
