Phased retirement: some points to consider
16/06/2005 - There is no single recognised definition of phased retirement. The term describes a range of employment arrangements, both formal and informal. In its broadest sense, phased retirement means a gradual change in a person’s work arrangements as a transition towards full retirement. In the conventional approach to retirement, a worker moves from full-time permanent employment to complete withdrawal from the labour force in one move – an all or nothing approach.
