Ibec Cork Regional Executive Committee
A Regional Executive Committee (REC) of approximately twenty members is elected on a biennial basis to represent the views of businesses in the Cork Region in formulating national and regional policies. The committee meets a number of times throughout the year to discuss national, regional and local issues of importance to the business community. Currently, the regional president is Brendan Keating, Chief Executive Officer, Port of Cork.
Ibec Cork Human Resources Forum
The Ibec Cork HR Forum is an informal network of HR specialists from Ibec member companies in the Cork region. The purpose of the forum is to discuss human resource related subject areas of interest to HR practitioners in the region. The forum allows for an exchange of information and the sharing of best practice procedures among the group members. Guest speakers with specialist knowledge are invited to attend meetings, which are held quarterly. The meetings are chaired by Peter O'Shaughnessy, regional director of Ibec Cork, and Sophie Crosbie, IR/HR executive of Ibec Cork.
Ibec Cork Health & Safety Forum
Ibec Cork provides a Health and Safety Forum that meets twice yearly. The purpose of the forum is to establish an expert group on safety management and systems within the region. This group assists Ibec in highlighting the importance of safety in the workplace and promotes best practice among all Ibec members in the region. The group brings together safety practitioners and managers with a view to sharing information on health and safety matters in the workplace.
